Cloudy days always make me sleepy. I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. Ofcourse it doesn't help when Sabien is up at 630. For the past couple days he's been taking a nice long nap in the afternoon (2 hours or longer) and then sleeping pretty well at night, but he's up earlier. I guess you have to take the trade offs.

Wow! I really need to cut my nails! I just happened to look down and see them. I used to keep my nails so long but now its a hassel and I find myself scratching poor Sabien all the time by accident. So off they'll go later. Yah that was a pretty random thing to write about eh? Soo anyway, moving on.....

It's Nicky's birthday today. She said something last weekend about going to East Side Mario's in Canada this weekend to celebrate. But I haven't heard any definite plans as of yet. That would be fun. I haven't been there in a couple years. They have very yummy food there. The drinks aren't bad either. I need to pick her up a gift on Friday when I go out. Not sure what to get her yet though. Guess I'll just have to do some looking. It's also Derek's nephew's birthday. He's 2. He's Sabien's cousin that's five weeks older than him. I have a party to go to at 7 tonight in his honor. It'll be the usual Colbert family birthday thing I'm sure. I have to try to be back home before 8 tho. House was a two part thing this week and the second half in on tonight. Chelle came over to watch it with me last night and plans to come back tonight. It's really good!

Prison Break has been awesome too! It's starting to get frustrating though because they keep delaying the actual break out part. Every week the previews show them breaking out in the following episode and they haven't yet! Big teases they are!! :-p

Ok this was a rather random pointless post but hey, it'll keep my readers entertained I guess!

Got the majority of Erin's shower invitations mailed out this morning. There's a few I still need addresses for but they're mostly all on their way. :) It feels good to get that done. I plan to pick up whatever's left to get for the shower next weekend.

Going to dinner with Derek's family tonight. We're all meeting at a new Asian buffet place at 6. Looking forward to it. I'm still not feeling completely better but now its not more pain than being sick. I'm starting to ovulate and my ovaries really hurt this month. Must have a cyst. It seems about every other month I get really painful ovaries with ovulation. It'll pass in a day or two. It's certainly not enough to keep me from going and doing things.

Tomorrow night I have plans with all my friends to meet at Hotel Grande for dinner and then we're going to see Date Movie. My mom just called me around noon to tell me that she doesn't think she'll be able to watch Sabien when we go now though. So I'm going to ask Derek's mom. Mom said if I couldn't find anyone else she still would but she'd prefer not to since she has about a hundred things to do this weekend. She's pushes herself so hard between working full time and going to school part time. I guess this week her class is Monday instead of Thursday so she has less time to finish her assignments and that's one reason she can't watch Sabien. I'd imagine my mother in law will be able to. I'll have to ask her about it tonight at dinner. So anyway, I'm looking forward to a night out with all my friends. It should be fun. :)

Wow! the shower is three weeks from tomorrow! How is it so soon?! It seems like I just found out Erin is pregnant and now its time for her shower already. And then it'll be baby time before I know it! I'm sooo excited about going into the delivery room with her! I probably should make plans with someone to come down and stay with boy whenever that happens. It could be as soon as next month!

Ok, going to go now. I haven't eaten since breakfast so I'm going to go have some spinach salad. Yum!

What a little hand full Sabien has turned into! He's a crazy little toddler for sure!! He's so much fun and frustration all at once. His personality has really developed over the past six months. He has a great sense of humor and loves to do things to make us laugh. He's developed a liking for music too. He dances and bobs around whenever he hears some, even if its a commercial on TV. On the other hand, he's a little tornado too! I feel like I'm constantly chasing him around the house all day saying "No, Sabien!" "No touch Sabien!" and the like. Derek and I have been having some disagreements where discipline is concerned. Derek has the theory of spank him for everything but I'm more choosey of when I spank him. It's usually just for things that are dangerous for him or when he purposely disobeys me after I've warned him. Derek isn't home with him all day and when he gets home at night he tells me that I don't spank Sabien enough when he misbehaves. I don't think he understands that Sabien is only a year and a half old and that spanking him all the time really doesn't have a lot of impact at this age. But I suppose I am the one who's home with him all day and as long as I discipline him in some fashion that's all that matters right? I just wish Derek wouldn't treat me like I just let Sabien run wild and do whatever he wants all day because that's certainly NOT the case! A lot of my battles with Sabien happen just because he hasn't learned how to communicate verbally much yet. He really doesn't say much at all and he gets frustrated and throws tantrums sometimes becauase I don't know what he's trying to tell me. I can imagine that would be very frustrating. Like trying to talk to someone who speaks a completely different language. He's so intelligent and understands everything I say to him and he's advanced with his small motor skills and coordination...just no talking yet. Everyone says once he does start, he'll probably talk non-stop. ;) Uh oh..Mr. Mischief us up to the counter again..better go see what he's in to.

That's one thing I wish he hadn't learned to do! He's always pushing the kitchen chairs up to the counter or sink and playing up there. It's not that he's really hurting anything, I just don't want him to hurt himself. Such are the joys of parenting a toddler! And its only just begun for us! Yikes!! Lord help me!

I've been working on some things for Erin's baby shower, which I'm in charge of planning. I'm really looking forward to putting it on. It'll be so much less stressful than Chelle's bridal shower. There's pretty much only one other main person involved in planning and she's very easy going. She basically told me to just let her know what I needed her to do and she'd do it. Ok, I can handle that. :) I have the invitations designed on my computer. I'm pretty happy with them. But I still have time to tweek since they won't be going out until the first week of March. The shower is going to be March 25th. I'm so excited she's having a little girl! Yay! I always see such cute girly stuff and have no one to buy it for. Now I will. I know Erin's doing a froggy theme for Isis' nursery but I'll probaby sneak in some unicorn stuff too. ;)

Well, I should go. It's getting close to nap time and I need to find Sabien's pacifier before then. He has two pacifiers that he insists on using. No matter how many new ones I get him, he goes back to those two. Well they're both in cognito so I better find them or nap time will be a struggle. I'd like to lay down for a few minutes myself if I have time after getting the dishes done. I was up last night from about midnight til 530 this morning off and on with Sabien. I think it was his teeth..but stupid me, it didn't occur to me that was probably his problem until this morning when I finally got him back to sleep in his crib. A dose of motrin probably would've gotten me a lot more sleep last night! Oh well...lesson learned. ;)

I almost forgot to tell you something! We think one of Derek's friends is going to buy his truck. He called Derek yesterday to see if he's still selling it becuase his truck blew up yesterday and he needs a new one immeadiatley. Derek said he'd sell it to him really cheap..a lot less than we hoped to get but we really do need to get rid of it and that money could enable us to finish the foundation. So he was going to the bank today to see if he could get the money and then he's supposed to let Derek know today. I just called it back into the paper this week also. But that hasn't been much help. So hopefully we'll finally sell it. It will be wierd seeing someone we know driving it. But then again I think I prefer it that way for some reason. Anyway, just wanted to tell you.
